 Jim and I were good friends during the second half of CVS and up to 1967 when he moved to Sarasota Florida. He was so into his music I thought for sure someday he's going to be famous. However, life steps in and the dreams change. Marriage, children and responsibility create new dreams and cloud the old ones. He continued playing throughout his life and became famous in his neighbor and city. I called him in 2010 to attend the upcoming CVS reunion and he told me of his complications and reasons for not attending. Cancer, enough said. All of his many friends were saddened at the loss of their good musical friend for many years. Jim Popovich (AKA Jimmy Roberts) was one of the real-deal Chicago guitar players, I was always impressed by his style, taste and tone. One of the best guitar players I ever heard. He loved the Blues and Florida loved him. He still has a facebook page if you have interest for more information.
